Do politicians have the legal right to continue to contact people after they've been asked to stop?
Two months ago I started getting EXCESSIVE mail from a local candidate. Two things a day, multiple times a week. After about a dozen mailings in less than two weeks I contacted him and asked him to please stop. He agreed.
I still continued to get excessive mail, even as recently as yesterday.
I've also been receiving multiple text messages from him (on his behalf?)
How is this legal? I have now asked him multiple times to stop. I have spoken to him on the phone. I have messaged his campaign via facebook. I have responded to the texts (though I'm not sure anyone actually receives those.)
Can I ask for a no-contact order? I'm guessing after today it will stop because the election is over, but I kind of just want some official record of this harassment. For what it's worth, I think he stands an excellent chance of winning.
