Does she not go to preschool?

Do you go out in your yard or on stroller walks? If so that’s fine, but it would be good to get some play date experiences for her.

That is extremely bad for your child's socialization. She should be in a preschool for some days of the week at that age.

Children need to be playing outside everyday or nearly everyday. It doesn’t have to be a big activity. But your child at least needs a playground or time in the yard or woods. Check out Free Forest School.

What do you do with her at home?

I find it easier to take my almost 3yo out. The day goes smoother and she naps better.

I also order most groceries on instacart and most items on amazon. We still go out most days.

I have 2 older kids in elementary as well. We go out to drive older kids to activities too.

No I can't relate to this at all. The day goes by much faster if we leave the house, and it makes the house less messy (and I'm a neat freak). But everyone is different, so if this works for you and the child is getting outings on the weekend, I think you should just do that.

I hear you OP. this was my strong proclivity. Don't even get me started on summers and the pool. What worked for me was preschool (now. Find a spot) and a mom's group with highly motivated moms. I will forever be grateful to these type A organizers.

I am sure you are not the only one OP but it is not the norm. Kids love being outside, if you don't want to interact with others just go for a walk together, let her ride a scooter or walk with you.

I would go stir crazy being indoors all day with my kid.

I’m a SAHM. My children would riot if I did this. I have a bad cold and didn’t go outside yesterday. My 2 year old kept bringing me my shoes and saying “Go out! Come on mama!” I’m still under the weather but I think we’re going to need at least a short outing today.

Wow that sounds boring and awful. OP, she is going to have a really tough time in kindergarten if you don’t expose her to society more often and socialize her and get her used to schedules and activities. Dancing at home doesn’t cut it.

AT this age, she needs socialization. Are you sure you aren't depressed? I was when I was like that as a SAHM

I cannot relate to this at all. I go crazy if we are home all day.

I thin it's nuts, because everyone knows that the best way to keep your house clean when you have little kids is to get the kids out of the house for as long as possible.

When I was a SAHM we'd leave the house by 8:30 and came home in time for nap time, then we'd leave again and get home in time for dinner. The goal was to keep the house from becoming a wreck and to tire the kids out.

Ok that’s so sad. Please take your child outside. You should be sending her to part-time preschool 2-3x/week so she can socialize. You sound depressed. Children love love love being outside and playing with others.

I am a SAHM to a 3 year old and literally can not remember the last time I left the house with her just us during the week. we do a ton of activities during the day and crafts, projects, play time, dancing, etc but I do not like nor want to go anywhere with her. On the weekends my dh and I will take her out together to playground, activities, classes, stores, etc. I do all my shopping online and instacart my groceries. I'm a hermit but is anyone else? Is it horrible I don't do things outside of the house with my Lo?
