This. Your OB isn’t going to be the one interpreting the HSG anyways - the radiologist will.

I’m going to offer a dissenting opinion... I did thyroid testing with my Ob and then couldn’t get into an RE for 8-10 weeks (scheduled two different consults). During those weeks I went ahead and got HSG done - the results could be shared with RE.

I am very much a newbie to all this. My OB did not recommend a particular RE. What do you mean by monitoring? How would you know if your insurance cover multiple meet and greet info visits? I have BCBS Fed and will be switching outside of Fed network next year.
Also if i do this testing now through OB, will insurance not cover it with RE if they need to re-test?
Not PP, but generally diagnostic testing is covered ... in terms of multiple consults, those are normally covered since it's an office visit. What insurance will you have next year? If in MD, plans cover IVF!
Yes, switching to insurance that covers IVF but only under the MD mandate - so 2 years of infertility dx. Figure better get teati g done soi er rather than later!

I would say do not just go to the place your Gyn recommends though for an RE. I was so new to the RE world that I just took her recommendation and honestly had a bad experience because I ended up doing some cycles with that practice. Definitely do some independent research.

Agree with all of the above. Have the testing done with a reproductive endocrinology practice. I've heard horror stories of blood tests being run at the wrong time of the cycle and easy/very obvious issues being missed as a result.

It absolutely does. A fertility clinic specializes in infertility. I would not recommend sticking with your OB for these tests and the follow up.
