$20-$30 but DS is invited to about 3 parties a year so it doesn't feel too bad.

I usually do $15-20. However, my husband just spent close to $40 yesterday for a couple gifts he thought our kid's friend would like--however, it's a close friend, and we know and like the family.

$20-25. That seemed to be what most people spent for DD at her party recently. Good friends spent a bit more.

$15ish if just a classmate. $20ish if a good friend.

I am considered a poor on this site though.

Same here!

Basically the same. $15ish-$20. Low teens for classmates ($13-$15, up to $20 for a good friend).

We usually do a book and something small, like sidewalk chalk. And I stock up ahead of time when I find good deals. So the amount spent is often $5-$10, but probably $20 worth of stuff if I paid full price.

It depends on how much time I have. Sometimes we just get a card. I always feel crummy about it. We don’t ever really know these kids and I have no idea what to get them, and I ask their parents but they rarely respond.

Around 20 dollars. My go to is that there are a lot of really nice/fun art or craft kits that run around that price range from Crayola.

I'm a step lower than you are. We do about $15-$17 for general classmates and $20-25ish for very good friends. I sometimes buy two of something if it is on sale and looks like it could work for another child at some point.

People will probably call me cheap, but honestly, I just go to Five Below and pick up a couple of things.

I have twins and they are generally both invited to parties so I spent about $50 total. If only one goes I spend about $25. I'll go down to $20 and up to $30 depending on the item because some things are just pricier than others.

Late pre-school/early elementary school where the whole class is invited? $20 is about right right? and $30 above and beyond if no special relationship with the family?
