Here's the explication: it's a road in a city, not a suburban speedway.
My one weird trick for not getting citations from speed cameras is to not speed. It's been 100% effective so far.
There's also another weird trick I've heard of, which is to get around on foot, bike, transit. That's also 100% effective.
Many people here don’t recognize that it’s possible to go about your life without driving around specifically above the speed limit.

A native Virginia driver would likely drive 45 in those conditions. I have driven in NE and everything seems set way too low compared to driving locally. 25 is schools or unmarked residential streets.

Where are you driving with traffic so light you can speed?!?!? Most of the time I think I am going crazy fast but glance at the speed and it’s like 35 mph (in a 45 limit but traffic is slow!)

In the old days that was true because they were mechanical. On modern cars, they work fine at lower speeds.

I usually drive the speed limit, and/or below due to traffic. The one time I had to go on a weekend morning when there were no cars on the road, no people around, I clearly did not pay attention, I got two tickets. Very expensive morning outing.

I’ll admit I never really needed to go to N.E. while living in S.E. Now I venture every once in awhile and the 25mph speed traps are just so close together.
