Quit sending them to "daycare" 5 days a week, 10 hours a day...to be RAISED by Laquisha and Maria.

Where do you think "our" kids pick up all those bad habits?

I never knew people could be as hateful and stupid as you are.

Your racism will not serve your children well. In fact, it is harming them!

What if they need comfort at 2am, 3am, 4am, 5am....still thinking it’s a good idea for everyone to be sleep deprived?

Be vulnerable with your child so that they understand that you’re human too, and strengthen mutual trust.

You don’t have to be with them every second of the day - but the time you do spend, make it enjoyable for THEM the few years they’re a child.

Make them work for money.

Don’t give them everything they want, even if you can.

Be your kid's parent -- not their friend. You can be friends with your child when they're grown. But during childhood, they need a parent. Boundaries, structure.

Give real life reasons for rules, and follow up with real life consequences. Having a close attachment helps them gain confidence, so if they need comforting, comfort them, even if it's 3am. They don't need much, but they do need your time and attention, so much more than any toys or organised activity. No idea if this works for everyone, but this is how my mum was and how I am with my kids. So far so good, but ask me again in a few years time!

How old is your child?

I'm not a good parent. I try, but I don't succeed.

You don’t have to tell back. It doesn’t have to be a two way street. Can you get help? Take a parenting class? Get more breaks so you can respond to them differently? I know it’s hard. I’ve noticed that when my kids are behaving their worst and pushing me away the hardest is when they most need a hug from me. If I can take a deep breath and respond with warmth or humor, it can stop a negative spiral and it’s so worth it, for all of our well-being.
