Yup. Wouldn't let my 12 year old but yes to a 14 year old with friends.

Yes. For that reason, yes. I assume it's not convenient for a parent to go? They ought to be allowed to go.

If it was just any-old-reason they dreamed-up that they wanted to go downtown, then no but this event is a special occasion. No reason not to allow it.

Yes. They need to learn how to use the Metro, OP, and be comfortable on it. This is much prefereable to car services.

Yes, the metro part is obviously no problem. If it is the parade you are worried about, keep in mind that at this event there will be tons of parents and little kids, plus security, and for some reason that makes it feel safer than sending them alone to a concert or rally on a controversial topic.
