I don’t know what game 5 you were at, but I was there until the bitter end, and that’s not an accurate portrayal of attendance.

Last time I went, even Steelers fans left the stadium to get ahead of traffic in a blow out loss. It's pretty normal in stadiums.

Oh come on, that was hardly a surprise. It's why he doesn't go to big public events that isn't a rally. I will say that it was helpful that there wasn't much made of him being there other than the brief video on the screen. I don't know when he arrived or left but getting in and out of the Park was easy even with the extra security at the entrance. I read that he was going to arrive later so that it wouldn't disrupt people arriving for the game, which seemed to work.

Same. In our whole section only a couple of people left before the 9th inning and they were the ones with young kids. I thought everyone was very into it given the score by the end. We started walking towards the exits by the bottom of the 9th but were in the stadium until the end.

I was there Friday, got there when gate opened and stayed to the bitter end (after midnight). It was packed until the last out. And that as a slow game.

I don't understand how you can make a blanket statement based on one game. I am a season ticket holder for years, I go to tons of game every year, not just watching on tv. Nats fans are great. Maybe come to more games in person to see for yourself.

This is what happens when games (understandably) start at 8:00, and are longer than usual because it's the postseason. It's completely understandable that people start leaving when it's close to midnight, the team is down by 6, and they have to work the next day. OP, you obviously didn't have to work the next day, so get off your high horse.

I know it's not unique, but this was our first World Series in 86 years. And this was the last home game of the year. And all the folks who needed to go to work would have stayed til the end of it went 15 innings. I just couldn't believe there was no sort of thank you for a great season in any way at all.


I stayed til the end. Whati kind of thank you do other city’s fans do after a loss at the last home game that’s not an elimination game?

Can you blame them? Baseball is boring AF. Plus, the Nats are a new team. I mean, it's not like you can care that much when they've only been around 15 years or so.
