None. I wanted a puppy so I can train her and be as knowledgeable as possible about her temperament with our young kids.

Perhaps if my kids were older I would’ve been open to an older dog, but not now.

Rescues aren't all virtuous. Plus, we have so many more people who want rescues than we do dogs, that we are importing dogs from other countries.

It's all madness to me. Just get the dog you want.

No. I don't want to support backyard breeders who are shuffling dogs through rescue, shady rescues, or dog auctions. I have had rescue.dogs and will again but I don't delude myself about their origins. I would rather support ethical breeders.

My bigger question is why don't people who adopt from rescue spend two seconds to think about where those dogs actually come from, not the feel-good lies you are told?

Nope. No guilt. We made the right decision for our family.

No we are allergic and needed a hypo allergenic dog. Also, do you feel guilty for having a baby knowing there are so many kids needing homes?

Do you have any guilt when you know there are thousands of unwanted dogs and cats out there already?
