Sumatra has ruined me for any other coffee, ever.

Peet's Major Dickason and Trader Joe's Bay Blend. I get the Peet's from Costco. They also sell a dark roast Starbucks but I don't like that one.

Starbucks French Roast Whole Bean. It's darker than Pete's and very consistent. Use it every morning in my French Press.

Compass coffee has some great blends. You will quite likely find something you like! I like their Shaw blend (quite dark)
Also, Costco sells great coffee. Their Colombian and Rwandan coffee beans are my favorite.

I also like Zeke's a lot.

Me too! I have been lectured about this many times by friends from Australia and New Zealand, where they are very serious about their coffee. Apparently the type of coffee I like is "over roasted" and "over extracted". I just like coffee that tastes strong (bitter is fine) but in no way sour.

Peet's french roast.

DH loves strong coffee, and this is the only one he likes.

+1. If you are out by Herndon, go to Weird Brothers coffee.... their "Dark Side" roast is what you need.

I love the dark French roast at Trader Joe's, and make it in a French press every morning. It's dark... and strong... and tasty!

It's pre-ground which I know is a no-no for many coffee snobs, but I love it!

Cafe Bustelo is great. It's a latin coffee, and can be found at most grocery stores.

Looking for my husband. He’s never in love with the coffee I buy. He likes a good dark roast and I feel like he tends to like European coffee when we go to specialty shops. Anyway I’m buying him a French press for his birthday and wanted to get good dark roast coffee beans as well. Any brands and flavors you like if you’re picky? Links would be appropriate! Thanks!
