I don’t get angry but I don’t like it.

You know, some of us have spouses who are in the military and absolutely love seeing videos or pictures of their kids at the playground. I'm sorry you can't have any empathy for someone who may be recording a moment on a phone. Scrolling through the internet instead of watching your child behave badly at the park and filming your kid are not the same thing, so chill out a bit. Also, you have no idea what the person scrolling the internet is doing. Perhaps they're trying to find a mental health professional to help them or researching chemo options for their parents. Seriously, the level of anger you have at people you don't know is not healthy. Try taking a deep breath next time and acknowledging that you have no idea why someone is doing something that you wouldn't do and remembering that it doesn't affect you and perhaps they're going through something. Just try it.

I know why they are doing it. Phone addiction. It’s rude and terrible for your kid. And I don’t think the phone needs to be out 24/7 in your hand to get 15 seconds of video for a deployed spouse. And research stuff on your phone when your kid is not around. Like at night. Some of us don’t use playground time or other time with our kids as a phone research opportunity.

Yes. I'm sure this is why most people have their faces buried in their phones all the time, or film their kid exhaustively at the expense of actually watching/playing with them or letting them play without posing- "smile, Larla!! Look over here! Smile when you go down the slide for mommy!". Because their spouse is deployed. Or because they are researching oncologists on google.

No, but I appreciate that they don't post it on social media. When I video I usually try not to get other kids as I don't want them in my pictures.

No. I would only be upset if the filming was interfering with other's use of the playground; like if the parent was so engrossed in filming that he was bumping in to other kids or something.

Your kid is essentially a random extra in the background of a scene starring George Clooney. No one is looking at your kid.

NO ONE CARES ABOUT YOUR KID.

Move them or make a playground in your back yard.

It’s not weird for someone to film their toddler on the playground. If you don’t want your kid in the background, move her.

Nope. Only if their kid isn't in the shot and it's not at like a birthday party.

What? No. I ask my family/friends not to post pics of my kids on social media, but that's pretty much where my control ends. You can't tell someone to stop filming their kid in public. It's not even illegal for them to just be filming YOUR kid in public. No expectation of privacy.

I’m a public place (park) and your kid is in the shot?
