But they did not know they were descended from Paddy until he showed up and told them, so why would they be thinking about/longing for some old, random white guy from 100 years ago?
I think the “longing for” idea was just a thought one of them expressed, nothing was ever proven that was why they came back. A lot of unanswered questions at the end of it all

I watched this series recently and loved it. I liked how they wrapped it up, a nice, neat little series.
I was confused by Chi and the young girl’s return (can’t remember her name off the top of my head) because of the notion that someone was longing for each one at their return. But then I thought about Charlie, he had been dead for over 100 years, was someone longing for him at that time? Same with Paddy, who was thinking about him? I think it was a coincidence for the others.
I didn’t notice the same thing as you about baby Nia’s eyes, interesting though, it could have been possible she “died” during the birth but was revived. I was so sad for Sara though, you could clearly see she loved that baby but knew she would die without getting to see her grow up.
And I hope they were all reunited at the end, but I’m still unclear how Elisha and William first met, they came from different timelines, didn’t they?

Ending was peaceful. They got to make peace with the lives they had lived and their end was voluntary, they found their calling

I just finished this series and loved it, even the ending. A few questions for those who have seen it (Spoilers ahead.)

In the third season, was Chi originally Killed by Paddy? I didn’t make that connection but my spouse pointed out that Chi’s killer said something like, “I plan to be mayor one day,” when he slit Chi’s throat. Also, why was Chi returned? Wasn’t someone supposed to have been longing for each of the returned when the glitch moment happened? Who would have been longing for him?

I had wondered a few times if Nia was infected because she was born during Sara’s first death, and in scenes with the baby the cameras seemed to emphasize her eyes a few times. Nothing was ever made of this though so I guess I imagined it.

I had wondered why people in the town seemed to die so easily and frequently from small accidents. I think that was acknowledged in the final scene when Charlie’s bf said he had died of a heart attack during the tazing, and James said something how people around you will continue to die unless the order is put back. Do you agree?

Last, do you think that the ending vision of the stars implied that lovers were reunited once they re-died? Wasn’t that supposed to be how Elisha and William found one another in the first place? I realize that is existentialcbut my spouse won’t entertain me with frivolous conversations about this show .
