As for the cost an agency will be 18-45k, surrogacy comp depends on state and if they are an experienced surrogate/have surrogate friendly health insurance but I'd budget at least 30k for that, but likely more in the 35-40k range. Maybe 5-8k for legal (you need two lawyers, one for you, and one for the surrogate).

We paid $30,000 for our gestational carrier. It was more expensive because this was her second surrogacy. You will also have to pay for her health insurance if she doesn't have a plan or if her plan excludes surrogacy. Then there are the costs for counseling ( for you and the surrogate), and copays for all the medical appointments and medications after pregnancy. The lawyer's fee was around $25,000. MD is more surrogacy-friendly than VA.

We are in the shared risk program at SG for DE and the only way they will move forward with us if use a surrogate. Does anyone know the cost?
