My son composes, too! It’s awesome. If yours gets into it, get him Finale Songwriter and he can enter competitions, if he wants. (I’m not sure how old your son is.)

OP, make sure you keep the music he wrote and maybe get a video of him playing it. It'll be nice to look back on when he's older. I hope you have friends and family that you can brag to, not just people on the internet. True friends are happy when their friends are happy.
