Friends since college, we each married other people who turned out to be assholes. We were at each other's first weddings. Got divorced separately. Then got together. Now we have been married for 13 years and I couldn't be happier. He's so perfect for me and a tiger in the sack.

He’s out on a run right now after making us a delicious lunch; I’m reading on the couch with the cat, and DS is reading in his room.

We went to grammar school together but not HS or college but we were always good friends. We didn’t see other from about age 18 until 25 because we lived on opposite coasts but we would email and chat once in awhile. Then one day he called and said he was moving back east for a job and he invited me out to dinner. When I met him at the restaurant there was an instant chemistry as we had both physically matured. As we parted that night I think we both knew that something was going to happen. That was 31 years ago. As a pp said earlier it was easy to go from being friends to lovers as it was slipping into an old pair of slippers.

NP - were you worried that if you didn’t click in bed that your friendship would be at risk? Good friends are hard to come by especially those of the opposite sex.
It’s funny that you should ask. I knew from a GF who had briefly dated him that he was very good in bed (yes, TMI) so I was more concerned about how good he’d find me to be. I guess I did ok. I didn’t think about putting our friendship at risk at the time as it just felt like the right thing to do.

He's sleeping upstairs and our two kids are on the sofa watching dinosaur train. And im 33 weeks pregnant.
We're very happy and very much still in love. We have a very calm and low conflict relationship but plenty of passion!
