NP- I'm 7 weeks with my second (first is only 9 months though) and this is me. Sleeping 12 hours a night and I feel like I have the flu during the day. Waiting on OB results but I've really been craving red meat so maybe it's iron, I will try that.

Yeah check on the anemia. I regularly slept 8 hour nights + a 1 hour nap during first tri but 10-15 seems like a lot to me.

Iron. I had this too. It got better around week 13. I kept falling asleep in my chair at work. Narcolepsy basically.

How much older are you now in this pregnancy than with the first 2?

This. 10-15 hours sounds excessive

i was sleeping a lot for a few weeks in the first tri as well. 10 -11 hrs. All my labs were normal. The days i did not exercise in the mornings or teleworked (i walk to the metro etc) i did not feel as tired and slept less.

I'm 9 weeks along with #2, and I am way more tired than I was the first time around (mainly because, between work and a 3yo, napping is out of the question at the moment), but...sleeping up to 15 hours at a time seems a bit odd. I agree with a PP to talk to your provider about getting labwork done.

It's absurd.

I get off of work and lay down, and often miss dinner / sports / anything with my kids and don't wake up until morning.

I was so tired with #3, and my first two kids were in school too. I caved and had caffeine daily. My energy didn’t return until about 20 weeks. Hopefully yours will come back sooner! They say the exhaustion is supposed to end by second trimester.

Give it a few more weeks. I found that the sheer exhaustion got better around 9 or 10 weeks.

Give in to the exhaustion and sleep when you can.

Eat more. Choose high energy foods. And frankly, sleep now while you can.

I am on #3. Number 2 was when #1 was only 3 months old, and I didn't feel like this.

1 and 2 are in elementary school and it's not like they need me 24/7 like last time. But I'm sleeping 10-15 hours a night and absolutely miserable. (I'm 7 weeks or so). ANything I can do?!?
