Several days. Maybe a full week? I'd have to check my journal, but I know it wasn't anywhere close to immediate.

Lost plug around 9:30pm on a Tuesday night. Gave birth shorty before 11am Thursday morning.

I lost mine between 2-3am. I began getting contractions at around 10am. Got to the hospital at 2pm and was 4.5 cm dilated. Baby was born at 830pm.

First pregnancy lost it in the middle of the night and water broke in the morning. Second pregnancy I lost very small bits of mucus for 2 days before labor started. Never saw the entire plug.

Lost mine around 8pm, started feeling slight waves around 1am. Contractions were 8 minutes apart around 7am. Baby was born at 4pm.
