Thanks for this info. Lab school is for students with language leaening disabilities. We are looking for any school that is best for a purely ADHD kid sans any other learning disabilities. But his diagnosis does affect his work for sure. We just need to move out of public!

Yes it's fairly unstructured and there can be some "rowdy" kids in the classes. Can make it hard for my inattentive.

I have heard from friends with kids at both Field and St Andrews that they offer excellent support for ADHD - they both have recent graduates that ended up at very good colleges.

However there is a myth that field is "easy". It's not. There is substantive work. They are not ADHD trained however and there are hiccups because of that. But overall lovely place and education.

The workload is lighter than the Big 3 for sure, but the more notably component is the level of support that is provided (if needed). Our kids have homework every night, but it’s not dominating their evenings nor causing the stress and tension that they had previously experienced. The school is a special place. That my kids actually like school and say so to others if new ground and absolutely lovely.

Check out some of the Catholic schools. We live in Baltimore and many of the Catholic high schools have academic support programs for students with executive functioning issues. They cost extra but it has really helped my son (and improved our relationship too!)

We are at Field. The teachers there are excellent at getting to know each child and treating them individually. Almost all homework is done and submitted on chrome books, which is much easier for my child to handle than pieces of paper. PLease share your thoughts on the following schools: McLean, Field and St. Andrews. Our son is in 7th grade and getting lost in public. He doesn't have learning issues, but he does have ADHD. We don't need a pressure cooker, but just want him to have smaller classes, have teachers know him and have some help with executive functioning (organizing, completing and handing in assignments). Thanks for any insight.
