I’m guessing you don’t have a clearance to protect but regardless, she could turn into a nightmare if you stop helping her. Is there a chance you could lose your job because of her?

Guy here, and I agree. This is her ticket to stay and marriage for that purpose is beyond the obligation of friendship. I had a female friend who fell for that and married a guy, only to see his true stripes after he was safe from deportation threat (and they have since been divorced).

I don't know if she want to marry me to stay here or if she truly liked me. I had a girl friend when she first moved in, but she broke up with me after this friend moved in for a few days. So I'm single now, and I'm looking.

I'm a federal government employee in DC (just some minion, not high profile job though), I have a friend overstay her visa. She asked me if she can stay at my place for sometime because she was worried about being found by ICE. I agreed thinking she might move out after she can find a place. It's been a while, she didn't show sign of moving out, and she suddenly said "I love you" yesterday. I'm flattered, but then I wasn't sure about her intention, and because I work for government, I'm also worried about my job. Any thoughts?
