Guarantee you’d fire her as soon as your kid goes to pre school. She is watching out for her future, doubtful you have HER best interest in mind.

Pay her tuition while she works for you.

Offer her health insurance.

If I were a nanny I would jump on this opportunity.

+ 1

She is a great employee, so you let her work for you part time. Maybe even supervising a new nanny at times. Make it a win-win proposition.

Wrap her on chains. Lock her in a closet. Stop being ridiculous. She is a free agent and can leave and pursue her dreams and desires.

+1. Your only option could be if she could do with you part time while pursuing studies at the same time.

Otherwise, anything you convince her with would only be a temporary solution and she’ll leave anyway. My first Aupair left after a year to pursue her masters degree and work in her field of study. I was sad that she left but I could understand that nannying was not the future she envisioned for herself.

Pay her a lot more. Pay her several more weeks of vacation.
Money talks.

Let her go, OP. Be supportive and you’ll be able to keep her in your child’s life as a babysitter and/or trusted, loving friend. Think about what is best for your nanny.

You will never get ahead or get what you want by purposely quashing someone else’s dreams.

Be a parent. Be a grown-up. Let her go.

Let her live her life

Pay her a LOT more. Or, even better, let her move on with her life and help a lot more kids than your own.

My Nanny wants to pursue a job in early childhood education but I don't want her to leave. Want can I do to keep her around?
