Oh chill. If a kid can run and play, and isn't complaining about them, then they're fine. My preschooler is still going through 3 shoe sizes a year. Yes, I'm too poor to replace her shoes half way through the season and think having room to grow is still better than cheap or used shoes. Get ready to clutch your pearls, I also size up in clothes and roll up sleeves.

I wish I could do this but I have kids with opinions about what they wear and they are transitioning between different shoes. For example, one kid wanted blue shoes last time and now wants green. The other one has started tying her own shoelaces and now wants tie sneakers instead of velcro. I'm worried that buying too far in advance will be money down the drain. (and we have to carry whatever we buy home in our suitcases...)

I love saucony. Think the quality is far superior to SKR which I find like keds. They run narrow. Nordstrom sells XW which fits average size feet for width. Can’t speak to how true to size they are for length.

I find SKR runs small for toddler girl shoes at least. I would start by comparing the inches on the size guides.

Now I just need to figure out what one size up is! We used to always stick with one brand (See Kai Run) but my kids now have opinions about what they want their shoes to look like. Last round we got Stride Rite sneakers but I didn't like how they held up. This round, the kids are leaning towards options from Puma and Saucony. any ideas of how Puma/Saucony/Adidas compare to Stride Rite for sizing?

I size up a whole size as well. As long as they can run and walk without tripping or clomping around like a clown, I don't worry if they look big.

I always size up a whole size. Once their shoes are too tight for one size, the next size up fits fine.

We live overseas where we can't get quality shoes at a reasonable price, so we usually get our kids new shoes when we go back to visit the US. They currently still fit their shoes, but we'll be going back next week and not again until February. I'm trying to decide if I should size up a full or half size. Any thoughts?
