Just stick with Windows 10 built-in AV. The 3rd party software is better, but I find it overly aggressive and causes problems for me. It also slows down a lot of machines.

The built in AV is pretty decent. I’ve seen a lot of IT chat where people say they are using it rather than 3rd party stuff. Don’t waste your time on Symantec/Norton/McAfee and the like.

I was strictly Apple for about ten years. I just got a PC back in February. I've had no issues. I don't have an antivirus. Windows 10 has a decent built in "defender." I think back in the day we weren't as vigilant when it came to links and attachments. I don't click on anything that looks suspicious. I have ad-blocker extension on Firefox, so I don't get random things on my screen.

The biggest thing is to keep your system updated to avoid security exploits...and back everything up.

Need to get a laptop for work and PC is just much easier in terms of compatibility, so going that route. But is maintaining antivirus as difficult as it was 10 years ago? I was strict about it, and separating my admin password, and it was a lot to stay on top of, vs the relatively easier and more secure apple experience...
