Another post from someone who feels as if they own the public road.

I am so tired of people complaining how seeing a certain car parked in front of their house irritates them.

If it irritates enough to vent online, then they should seriously consider moving into an apartment or condo.

Also, this is the bottom of the barrel for people’s problems.
Be grateful that you have your own home, a healthy child and you are not in hospice....dying of cancer.
It could always be much worse.

I think you found your rude neighbor, OP!

I'm an idiot...I didn't read your whole post. This is a neighbor's car. I agree with the suggestions about parking your car in that spot so maybe the owner parks somewhere else.

You must have a pretty good life if this registers as a problem.

Just park one of your cars there when the van isn’t there. Can you leave one of your cars there for a few days. Maybe once their habit of parking there is interrupted, they’ll stop.

This is exactly right. Commercial vehicles are generally not granted permits to park on public streets, but you should determine the ordinances related to public parking to make sure. And then if you really can't stand the van parking outside you can report it, either to the local authorities or to the company. The company is the one that will get the ticket so they may wish to make sure it's following the rules.

Leave a note on the car.

As long as it is parked on a public street and not blocking any driveways then they are within their right to utilize the public street area just as you (or anyone!) is.

We all pay taxes to enjoy these privileges.

If the van is not currently registered or has been sitting for more than 78 hours - then you may call the local authorities.
They will come & tow the van away.

But other than that, you must respect the laws like the rest of us citizens.

Are non-residents allowed to park on your street? If not, check that it's a resident.

Apart from that, you can ask them nicely not to park there, but they don't need to comply.

Can you park one of your cars "permanently" in that spot?

Post 09/20/2019 17:52     Subject: Neighbor with Pest Control van keeps parking in front of our house!

We live in a neighborhood where there are driveways, but they only fit one car. We have three in our household, so street parking is kinda a big deal.

Our neighborhood doesn’t require permits, and there are no limits on parking.

One of our neighbors (I can’t figure out who) has been parking their van with a big CAPITOL PEST on its side, right smack in front of our house for the whole week! Like, leaving for work, coming back, and intentionally parking in front of our house even though there’s plenty of other spots on our street.

I am seriously annoyed, even though I feel a bit ridiculous being so peeved about this. One, it’s taking the spot right in front of our house, and two, it looks to all the world that we have a serious pest problem...

What would you do? I don’t want to be passive aggressive about this, but jeebus.
