My 1st grader takes the bus to Obama Elementary each morning. On paper, the morning bus is supposed to arrive at 7:30 a.m. Since the beginning of school, however, it's been arriving at approximately 7:40. Yesterday and today, however, the driver (a sub driver) has been arriving at 7:20 and leaving at 7:23. Five or six kids have been left over the past couple of days. When asked this morning why he's leaving so early, the driver says that kids are supposed to be at the stop 10 minutes before the posted leaving time and that he has the right to leave three minutes after arriving. That seems ridiculous to me. Is that really the rule? This is my first year dealing with the bus systems so I'm not sure if my expectations are off. Thanks!
