We have found many world language books written for emerging readers for the same purpose for our tweens. The staff can be very helpful with locating the books too.

Happy Reading!

Thank you. I haven't been there in a while. I'll check it out this weekend.

My daughters Hebrew is coming along nicely. She has seen books in Spanish, French, Chinese, etc at the library and asked if she could have some books in Hebrew. I'm at a loss where to buy them. We have the Hebrew versions of Frog and Toad, Curious George, and Dr. Suess. Those are too easy. I've seen the Harry Potter books but those are too difficult. Ivy and Bean would have been perfect but they're out of stock on Amazon. There are no other book covers on Amazon that I recognize so I'm hesitant to buy them since I have no idea what they are, their level, or what the book is about. The synagogue library does not have any fiction books for kids in Hebrew.

The MCPS library website does not indicate that they have Hebrew books on their world languages page. Does anyone know local bookstore or website with a large selection of books in Hebrew for young adults. While she is 12, she reads around a 2nd or 3rd grade level in Hebrew. Israeli children/tweens must read something--right?
