This pump frustrates me to no end. I had the Medela pump in style with my first two and thought I would try something new. Biggest regret. I can't seem to find a comfortable setting. Right now it's collecting dust and I'm using my 7 year old PIS.

I do letdown mode until milk is flowing- 70/4 (button with 3 squiggly lines.) Takes me about a minute. Then I do 54/8 until flow slows and drop it to 38/10 for the last few minutes. I'm used to the suction at this point but you might want to start with suction lower and build up.

When you turn it on, the setting defaults to expression mode, not massage/letdown mode. Hit the pink wavy button and leave it on that setting until you experience letdown. Then you hit the pink button again to switch to expression mode and you can mess with those settings until you feel comfortable. This recommendation has made its way around a lot of Spectra pumping groups, maybe try that first and see if it works for you.

I’ve just started using it for the last 3 weeks and it took me about 2 weeks to find the right settings for myself. I actually just keep it in massage mode the whole time between 3 and 5. I have found that I need to use some hand massage at the same time to maximize my output though.

I'm planning on trying to pump this afternoon. I've watched a few videos but wondering if someone who used the Spectra (pink) can walk me through it? What setting did you put it on? When did you switch from expression? What setting and levels should I be at?
