The most important thing you can do - after the obvious no smoking, Retin-A at night, sunscreen during the day - is Botox. Do small amounts of it and start early on. Do it twice per year. If you're starting to get the slightest hint of 11s or horizontal forehead lines, start getting Botox injected there. It will have a preventative effect. A lot of us started Botox too late. I wouldn't worry about fillers. I think 20s is way too young to start fillers. They can really make you look crazy over time. They're also more expensive and more medically risky.

You will get way more bang for your buck out of Botox, generic Retin-A and sunscreen than you will out of all the, say, Drunk Elephant or Skinceutical products you can find. You don't need that stuff.

I just turned sixty as well, no wrinkles. Op, when I was very young and had a facialist located in Dupont Circle (her name was Ruth, and god I miss her!) she gave me some advice. Keep in mind she was close to seventy years old and her face was line free, makeup free, just dewy and gorgeous. Her face/neck was her calling card and they lined up for appointments with her. One, wash your face every moning and every night, two, vitamin C topical, three sunscreen, everyday of the year, no matter the weather. I have religiously followed this advise since me mid twenties and my skin is incredible. In fact, my husband who is seventy, followed my routine starting at 35, and you would never know he is seventy. Sunscreen and vitamin c.

Only water to wash. Use dry oil. Sunscreen but in my case not every day or overly much. I’m also worried about what’s in sunscreen. Drink water. Get sleep. Don’t worry about wrinkles. Life happens.

No, I'm 40 with minimal wrinkles. My "secret" is that I have oily skin and I'm overweight.

I do think sunscreen and chemical exfoliants are great, wish I'd started earlier. Also, wear sunglasses.

I'm 35 and have been doing Botox / fillers since I was in my mid 20s. I work in the industry so I get good deals. I probably would spend 2K or so a year if I were paying retail. I average 1-2 Botox so on ns a year and maybe 1-2 syringes of filler. That's not much, so it's just to maintain.

I've never had Botox. I don't drink much alcohol (less than a glass of wine a month), I moisturize, stay hydrated, get enough sleep, and wear sunscreen.

I just turned 60. My skin is fabulous. I don’t have one wrinkle. Sunscreen saved me.

You might be thinking of fillers and not Botox.

I am a fair Caucasian but had very oily skin growing up (and constant breakouts!) my skin finally settled down in my late 20s- my reward is no wrinkles so far at 42. I’m scared of Botox but can see why people want to try it.

How much do you spend on skincare/Botox etc? I am only in my late 20s but follow a lot of influencers around my age and a bit older who seems to be talking about getting microneedling, peels, Botox, you name it almost constantly and it just sounds insanely expensive. Are so many women really spending thousands and thousands each year on what seems like relatively basic upkeep? In real life none of my friends who are my age do this, but I know several women in their 40s who get regular Botox.
