You can check the record at

https://youthsoccerrankings.us/team.html?teamId=2115005

They lost to Loudoun. Loudoun lost (convincingly at least by score?) to the Richmond Strikers. Yes Loudoun (maybe Arlington?) are stronger vs other Nova teams but not strong in the region. Clearly 3rd behind the Baltimore Clubs and Richmond Strikers. Too bad Richmond strikers are not in the WAGS would be nice to see them play Baltimore Union. Will have to settle for Loudoun playing Baltimore Union.

Arlington relies on athleticism and is not very strong technically. It’s hard to judge the soccer IQ of the team because of the lack of technical ability. They will beat teams that are less athletic but lose to teams who are close athletically but with better technical skill and soccer IQ - ie can play soccer. At U12 you see this type of transitions. It’s not a very impressive team in term of playing soccer. Will be interesting to see what happens when they move to the big field next year. As they say...no one is faster vs the ball and the ball never gets tired.

Baltimore Union? They just tied SYC 2008 back to back look at the record. They couldn’t even beat one of the weakest teams i NOVA TWICE. Loudoun is easily best in the area. Points are just biased towards MD teams

To the extent rankings matter, use youth soccer. What you say can be true for gotsoccer. But not youth soccer rankings. No points. Just adjustments made on strength of competition in reported results.

Granted, the YSR scores among the bottom of the first flight and the top of the second are all within a few tenths of a "point" (eight teams between 27.93 to 27.64 … as of August 30) So, a bunch of those teams are effectively equal. But, from a purely numerical standpoint (based on YSR), they've placed Arlington Red correctly.

The team that should be relatively upset is Sunrise Sting 2008 X1. If nothing has drastically changed since the end of August, they are the fifth best team in the entire age group by YSR. No way they should be in the second flight. (First flight as 12 teams, Second has 16, I believe.)

The strangest placement, to me, is Loudoun Black in the fifth/bottom flight. That might be two flights too low. SYA Red should be near the top of the third flight, and not "just" at the top of the fourth.

Also Arlington lost to a lot of area teams in the top bracket. Have not seen Loudoun black play. I wonder where Stoddert and BSC are?

17 on a roster for 9 vs. 9? Is the FPYC coach from McLean? I remember when their 2008 green girls team had 15 players for 7 vs. 7.

FPYC is pretty low I thought they were good. Why do you have 17 in your roster? I would complain that doesn’t seem fair to the kids that will not have any playing time.

No some clubs do half hearted futsal(Arlington). Even their outside futsal additional training is just the same training they do during the fall- ie it’s not futsal. Other clubs have much better winter training(BSC and a few others). They work on individual skills and tight space high pressure situations. Those clubs are very sharp coming out of winter break.

I’m sure the Dallas Texans didn’t plan on traveling here for the 2nd flight.

Let’s start the madness! So do you think the group places will translate to Jeff Cup placement- ie top group placement at WAGS will mean top bracket at Jeff Cup? I think Jeff Cup puts together their top brackets/acceptance for team fairly early. So WAGS will have a large influence as the last major tournament before Jeff Cup for many teams(agree or disagree)? If a team did not make the top grouping in WAGS I guess you are out of Jeff Cup top bracket unless you win the group or will that matter?

Let’s kick it off with ‘08/u12. Loudoun only DMV team in the top group. Other close by clubs in the top group Baltimore Union, Baltimore Celtics and Richmond Strikers. All these close by club seem better vs any team in the DMV.

Second group Arlington, SYC Pride and VSA. McLean not in the tournament. Looks like Arlington has fallen out of the top group vs last year.
