OP, if I clicked on a link to a google doc on an anonymous message board, even in the evening from my home computer, my head of IT security would come to my office and confiscate my badge just for stupidity.

You may have to find another way to collect info.

FYI: here is Janney's IRS statement
https://projects.propublica.org/nonprofits/organizations/521661964

2017 was 2.2M - does this include aftercare?

OP: I am just curious. No one else has collected the info.

Lots of ways to use this - which one is it for OP?

Map privilege across DC?
Tell her PTO to work harder?
Use it in a grad school paper?
Look for PTOs that earn “too much?”

Again, what is the purpose of gathering this info?

Also, the Janey number was from the archives here. It was the amount suggested in letters sent to parents?

If you know your PTA raises money and passes it through, the name of the school would be helpful!

Only some do this. Inflates the numbers.

You need to distinguish fundraising from operations. PTA's WOTP run the beforecare/aftercare, which means they collect a lot of money but they just pass it through to the care providers.

Agreed. At best there is a line about how much the PTA spends per child on events and special teachers (400 at our school but that money comes from ALL the fundraisers, including the auction, so it isn't what they are asking for. I think 1/3rd of their total is raised through direct donations making it like 150 per child?) But no one is asking explicitly for even 150.

It might be more interesting to see what the pTA funds at different schools and total money raised. But even then, its not like this information will impact school choice decisions or advocacy the way the afterschool costs might.

The janney amount is incorrect.

I am interested in the costs school are asking people to pay...even though we all pay taxes.

I just found this excellent analysis in the DCUM archives:
http://amandahuron.net/blog/2017/6/17/mapping-pto-fundraising-in-washington-dc

But I am interested in the amount of the ask.

What’s the purpose of the chart?

I've seen lots of posts about schools and their annual request to parents. A commenter suggested we collect this info in a chart too.

Would love help populating this chart:

Or you can post here and I will populate the chart.
