Hardly a surprise. Today's GOP can't win anything without cheating, and their idiot base cheers when they break the rules.

Kinda hilarious coming from the same people that went apopletic after Benghazi.

I wouldn't be feeling like a proud Republican today. Why are you still in this party? And, if you want your party to survive, why are you not demanding changes? Your elected officials that demonstration this moral deprivaty are just deplorable. HRC was right on!

Because they don’t care about dead Americans, including first responders and soldiers who died on 9/11

I guess the Dems don't care either. There goes a good story.

The measure, which passed by a 55-9 vote, came as several members of the Democratic delegation were in committee meetings and at least one was at a ceremony commemorating the 18th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Even if most of the Democrats were not at the 9/11 ceremony, they were not at the Capitol because they had all been told there would be no votes before 1 pm because of the 9/11 ceremony.

Evidently, that is not true either.

It is the understanding that the Minority Leader had from the Speaker and the schedule that he sent to his caucus. The Speaker and Republicans knew to show up at 8:30 for a vote, which is definitely not the standard schedule or procedure.

There were committee hearings scheduled but no votes expected. The Speaker knew most of the Democrats were at the 9/11 ceremony.

This is pretty much one of the most disgusting and despicable things a political party has done in recent memory.

I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised since the NC GOP committed actual voter fraud during the midterms and multiple shenanigans after a Dem became governor. But still lying about votes while legislators were at a 9/11 memorial in order to not expand Medicare is pretty darn evil.

While Democrats attended 9/11 commemoration ceremonies, the NC GOP used their absence to build a quorum and override a veto of their budget - after telling Dems there wouldn't be any votes held today. True class.
