Yes the super bright display of most clocks sucks. I have a super old, 90s alarm clock by my bed. It's got red numbers which is SO MUCH better. My DH has a newer one on his side and it's so bright, I hate it. We still use our phones as alarms though, but I like being able to glance over and know what time it is without pushing a button.

I like travel alarm clocks. Small and aren't plugged in & bright, usually have a button to light it up if you wake up in the middle of the night and want to know the time.

Either get an alarm clock or put your phone across the room with the volume on loud.

OP, I also found modern alarm clocks to be too bright, even on the dimmest setting. This won't help you too much, but I put an Echo in and that's my alarm.

Pretty much any $10 CVS alarm clock lets you adjust the brightness on the display.

Braun makes great analog alarm clocks. I like my classic one, but there is a range. I set two alarms and put the thing under my pillow after the first one rings so I don't wake up my husband.

Our alarm clock died, so we switched to using phones, despite our previous no-tech in the bedroom policy. I really like not having the digital display or the extra clutter on the nightstand. But while I used to be good about not checking my phone at night (would leave it downstairs), when it's just on my nightstand I ended up falling into the habit of reading on it before bed and it's messing with my sleep. DH too. I think it's also disrupting our love life. And even when my willpower is good, and I don't check it, just seeing the phones and knowing they are there makes me feel drawn to them.

Does anyone else feel like this? Any recs of alarm clocks without bright digital displays, and without wifi or any tech?
