I have questions!
45, with regular periods and no risk of being pregnant, I keep feeling milk letdown on both sides, and having to check that I didn't in fact make milk. I'm assuming this is perimenopause. Is there a good reason to see a doctor for perimenopause? What doctor would that be? Ob-Gyn or GP?

I went into full menopause at age 34 due to surgical removal of my ovaries. I commiserate! If you have specific questions, I can try to answer.

^ups, sorry, "late perimenopause", not late menopause (am on the early side as well).

May I ask how irregular you are? How many months have you skipped? Wondering since you think you will be done in another year...I have had the periods every two weeks on occasion for the past year or two ("regular" in recent years is 20-24 days), and skipped up to 4 months this spring, almost 3 months last summer. Currently almost 6 weeks out and still waiting for the next period. I have no idea how much longer to expect this, though I do appear to be in "late menopause" with the longish gaps.

I had my last period at 41 (my mom did at 40). Now 48 and have been on hrt for a few years. I feel great, exercise a lot, and don't miss my periods. The hrt I use is an estrogen spray and progesterone pill. I really don't feel any different than before. Don't worry just see your doctor.

I did (last period age 42) and am on HRT. Talk to your doctor about it. I use a climera patch.

Me too, but hot flashes started around 33. I’m 44 and on the pill for the past 5 years since I had my last child via IVF. I have no clue if I’m in menopause or not, but I assume I am as my mom stopped ovulating at 40.

It’s the paternal side that did this to you. That’s why you are blindsided. Fortunately, I understand the side effects are less if you go through early.

I'm 42 and well into peri-menopause and based on my FSH and symptoms I probably have another year of periods before I go into menopause. My GYN agrees that I'll be done with menopause by 45.

I'm really worried about the physical and emotional health impacts of going through menopause so early, like increased heart risks, etc.

My mother and Grandmother both went through menopause very late, so not sure why this is happening.
