I feel you bc it’s so stupid. It’s wasteful even if it’s on clearance and money not spent wisely if the clothes don’t fit. I’m frugal so I’d rather not be wasteful if I can help it. No advice. Some people are stubborn and they expect you to just be thankful even though what they’re doing is burdensome. I guess you can just donate it to someone whose kids can use them.

That's not greedy and its wasteful to buy what kids cannot wear. No reason not to buy the next size up.

You seem fixated on receipts. Most clearance items are non-returnable.

This is exactly my mother. Exactly. She just bought shorts and t-shirts on clearance in my kids’ current sizes. They won’t fit by spring, and, anyway, my kids wear uniforms to their public schools so they won’t even wear the stuff now. She is wasting her money but I seem unable to stop it, so no advice, OP, just commiseration.

Tell her bluntly you need the bigger sizes and it makes no sense to buy for now as they have enough clothing by the time it goes on clearance for the season. The next size or two up i more helpful.
