I use my car for my job. This is also why my car is 11 years old and I’m not replacing it. Kids and car seats run the car! When I get a new job and they provide a nanny car, I will replace my car.

Using the personal car for your work is more then gas. You need to participate in the entire upkeep of a car per year because
you simply are abusing her car for your needs. Sneaky thing to do.
Just as when you pay for Uber you are not jus paying for gas, deduct driver reimbursement, the fee has to cover insurance, wear and tear,
maintenance etc.

When your nanny is using a car for your purpose, she is putting mileage on it and de facto is lowering the value of her car should she sell it later.
So even if you consider using her car for your needs aka babymobil, then at least pay double the gas so it will cover some of the other expenses.

Your car. As long as you can afford. You know that car, you know if it is safe, you know if it has an oil changed, if it has a good tires,
if it has a good w heels, if it has a breaks that work if it is regularly serviced etc.
Nannies usually are not car wiz. Often times also they can not afford the car that is the safest and the most kids appropriate,
they have just A car.
Imagine car can be in poor mechanical condition, can break on the side of the highway, your kid in the car seat and all, that is not a safe place to be for anybody let alone kids. Imagine car safety features, modern cars do have lots of them. When you buy a car for your family would you just buy to a used car dealership and buy first better car? The car is the only thing that will protect your kid from horrible injuries in case of accident.
So why would you trust someone else's car to do that? Again, nannies are really expert on cars, and their cars are often to just move them from A to B. Not to mention that there is really no reason to add more work and expense for her to clean after your kiddo and use her own car, her insurance and wear and tear and all that just because you want to save a buck.

I am a career nanny. I prefer to use a nanny car/ the family’s car, but do use my own vehicle half of the time. Make sure the nanny has a safe car and I would personally ride in the car when she drives to a few activities. I have a nanny friend who is not a great driver.
