In my experience with similar affiliate relationships for boys’ DA, it means practically nothing. DAs will take the best kids they can without regard to their home club. This announcement provides the partner clubs with the opportunity to brag about the relationship in the hopes of convincing club members or potential club members that there is a pathway to the DA if you are at the club. It gives Metro United the potential for more ticket sales to families at the affiliate clubs. There will be some free or reduced cost tickets for affiliate families and potentially a training with Spirit players. It’s basically just community building.

When multiple clubs participant and feed their better players into one A team, it allows for an overall higher quality of A team. The grouping of higher level players together on one team raises the level of training environment, which in turn leads to better results in games, which in turn allows for opportunities to play against better teams at showcases (which means more college scouts and scouts from better schools) and most of all, leads to better player development.
Please remember this post when folks bash on clubs telling you to 'find a good coach'. The players around you 100% matter. Some on here don't believe that.
Both the coaches and the players are the major part of the environment. A good coach can improve poor players though, while a poor coach does not and can in fact make poor and good players alike worse by reinforcing bad habits.
Being on a winning team doesn’t mean your DC is improving, it just makes you both feel better.
Nobody said anything about a winning team. Winning is a byproduct.
