Sleeping: currently using the Halo bassinest and it’s working great, some swaddles and footed pjs
Diaper changes: changing table on top of the dresser, diapers, wipes and butt cream (I like baby aquaphor)
Getting out: infant seat and stroller with adapter, carrier (Ktan is good for newborn, after that I love my ergo), a tote bag for a diaper bag
Bathing: puj tub for the early days, a munchkin soft bucket for pouring water, baby soap/shampoo (I like Mustela best)
Feeding (if breastfeeding): Spectra pump, Haakaa pump (this changed my world - the early days of engagement were no big deal with one of these), nursing bras, nursing pads, bottle brush, bottle & nipples (whatever you want - I’m using Kiinde this time around and like it a lot), feeding pillow, a lot of burp cloths
Places to put baby: swing, bouncer, and/or pack and play, a play mat, a mobile

Mom of 4. It depends on the kid, but if I had to choose I’d probably go with the swing since it can be a lifesaver for a baby who won’t nap. We have both and different kids have liked one vs the other. My 4 month old adores the bouncer for playing (he spends 20+ minutes in there at a time just bouncing and kicking) and has also taken a lot of naps in the swing. My others didn’t love the bouncer.

No strong opinion, but I would get something that you can easily move from room to room, rather than something huge that stays in once place.

IMO this is too many clothes, blankets, and washcloths, and idk how PP bathed get child because for us a baby tub was a necessity, but otherwise I agree with this list. Also look into the hatch white noise machine which will later function as an ok to wake clock.

Just a couple things:
Ergo 360 with infant insert. GREAT carrier.
Woombie swaddle -- seriously a lifesaver. It's basically a zip-up potato sack, so your infant won't be able to wiggle out of it and then wake up in the middle of the night. You won't be dealing with annoying folding patterns or velcro. Just get it and stick it in your hospital bag.

I absolutely loved my travel system stroller. Used it every single day of my maternity leave once I was able to walk. Passed it on to my sister and she also uses it frequently.

I always buy new mom friends a six-foot phone charger too. Good for using in hospital, when nursing and when naptrapped.

I just had my fourth kid last year. I wish I’d sprung for an amazing stroller and glider from the get go. I used a baby carrier (I’m partial to Tulas) all the time. Go with the Spectra pump. Get a white noise machine. Not sure of anything else that is super critical

Buy a *good* stroller (doesn't matter if you get it used), then get car seat adapters to put whatever brand car seat you want on top of that stroller. The strollers that are sold as "travel systems" with infant car seats are pretty much total crap.
