Yes. You are paying for an experience. Totally worth it, in my opinion. There are few places in this region where you get to walk through the trees and be entertained with food and bathroom right there. What they created is one of the best in the country. Drop the 50, and enjoy. All of us entitled jerks would drop 50 on something else we don't need anyway. This is worth it.

We went two days ago and had a great time with the family. The cost REALLY adds up though. Beyond tickets and food, everything seems to cost at least $2. I paid $2 for my son to go down a goddam slide. Worth the money though.

And no there are no bathrooms, only port-a-potties. DH and I were wondering why, since it is a permanent site, they do not put in bathrooms. But apparently the demand is not high enough?

Maybe don’t believe everything you hear?

The Ren festival is located at a permanent structure with fully functioning restrooms and ATMs on site.

It was nice.

Where are these “fully functioning restrooms”? All I’ve seen are port o potties.

Thanks, PP! This is helpful--I've been wanting to go to RennFest and now I think I can.

I saw a video of it and it looks like people dressed in antiquated costumes and role playing mostly on a campground. Is there anything fun to do there besides watch a show? I think I'd prefer medieval times (never been) or busch gardens?

I *loved* it as a kid! Now I live in a small town, and our Ren fair is a bunch of kids larping in a public park. Go.

It's either dusty or muddy, but apart from that, I like it. Not something I'd do every year, though.

Just took DD and 5 of her friends today. Weather was good and we had a blast. Lots of entertainment. And food wasn't quite as expensive as I had feared. Note that cost goes up considerably in a few weeks

I love the Renaissance Fair, so IMO it's definitely worth the $50, and I'm cheap!

It would cost about $50 for us to get through the gates. Is it worth it? I remember going a long time ago when I was a kid but I don't remember anything about it.

Thanks!
