I’d say “hey, I get you think I’m a paranoid mom- and maybe that’s true- but humor me here would ya?? Come on. It really bothers me. You may not now, but you will have a “thing” (weird preference, request etc) sometime too, and I’ll owe ya one ok?!”

And no I don’t think it is paranoid. At all. But you catch more flies with honey. And this is put in a way that doesn’t blame him or make him feel defensive. Pretty sure it will work. Give it a try.

The fact that he's not respecting your wishes around your child is deal breaking behavior for a lot of people. Vaping may be safer than cigarettes, but there just hasn't been enough studies of the long-term health ramifications. Not to mention is that it is not "just water vapor." There is nicotine in the solution and not all of it is ingested when you inhale.
