It is absolutely insane to me that people would call the cops on a kid before talking to the parents.

I told the kid to come back with a bag but so far the kid has not come back (~an hour ago). The kid lives a few houses down but have never met the parents. I'm thinking of speaking to the parents before escalating further. Thoughts??
