I don't understand why people are claiming montessori kids can't do well at testing. How do you explain LAMB scores then?

We did visit both. However, there’s a lot about a school that you don’t know from a visit or reading their site. We learned that the hard way in the school we were at previously.

This is funny. Reason all the kids can’t even read and do math is because Montessori kids are not good at testing. You mean just like the kids at the other Montessori schools who do well on PARCC?

I agree and actually turned down MV for Lee this summer. PARCC is only one data point and Montessori is not very compatible with standardized testing. If you otherwise don't want Montessori and are really committed to Spanish then MV may be the right place for your family, but don't decide based only in PARCC.

Mundo. I like Lee's location and play areas but their performance is a big concern. There's another thread about 0% of black children at Lee being on grade level in math. That's a huge concern and even bigger is that 50% of Lee kids of all colors are in the lowest performance levels on PARCC (levels 1 and 2) for both English and math. Also, Mundo's language offering and sustainability education is more important to me than Montessori.
