Subject: California closets vs. Container Store (Elfa) closets?
They were small closets so roughly $500-900 each. One closet was double that because I wanted to do a deeper shelf which raised the price because it had to be a floor supported unit rather than a wall mounted option. I didn’t do any drawers which also makes things more expensive. Have them come out and give you a quote. It’s free/no obligation so you can make an informed decision.

I used CC and was surprised at their relatively low prices. Their designer came and measured and they were installed like 10 days later. I’ve been very happy. My closets were relatively small in an older house, so we’re not talking walk in closets. They were running some deal at the tome where if you signed a contract within 3 days of the quote you got a 10% discount and also a free wood upgrade. Seemed like a good deal to me and they look great!

I don't think the Elfa wood shelves can be cut. I don't want wire shelves. I'm looking for an upgrade from wire shelving.

Yeah I’m confused. Inches do matter for Elfa drawers but the rods and shelves can be cut to size. If you’re just browsing online, go into the Contianer Store and have them plot out your space. Bring really good measurements and photos (eg don’t just measure floor to ceiling or wall to wall, also include baseboards and door jams).

Most, if not all, of the Elfa stuff can be cut to the needed width.

I was planning to do Container Store Elfa (decor), but part of my closet is 47" -- and that seems to be a few inches too short to use their shelves/rods that are meant to make a 4 ft. closet. It seems like I'd have to drop to using 2 ft. shelf + 18" shelf -- which is only 42". In a small space, I hate to burn 5" of width just because the product can't be cut down. I don't want to move a wall over 4" either.
