DCs school is a LLIV. DC is a principal placed Level III student in a Level IV class.

LIII at our school means at most once a week pull out for math one semester, and language arts for the other. At our center, LIII math, for example, is daily with the LIV kids.

This was our experience with our oldest kid. Level III sounds good on paper and some of the schools with LLIV seem to offer a lot more services to Level III students, such as allowing them to join the LLIV classes in certain subjects. If there’s no LLIV, it’s usually 30-60 minutes per week of enrichment but no differentiation in the core classes. Our base school with no LLIV does not offer advanced math until 5th grade, which means a lot of kids in 3rd and 4th grades are doing independent reading or playing math games while their classmates try to get proficient enough to eek out a passing score on the SOL.

Level III is a joke. Seriously. Try for Level IV services again.

I'd email the AART and ask what services your child will receive. No one here could possibly have an answer to your question, since every school handles LIII differently.

Have not gotten any additional information other than the letter received last year. When can we expect to get this information??

Our school has Local Level IV and the Level IIIs join the AAP class for whatever subject they were admitted for. If they're advanced in more than one area, they'll most often be principal placed in the AAP class full-time. Level IIs receive advanced material in the regular classroom, so they get in-class differentiation basically.

Talk to your school. We are at a Local Level IV school and my daughter is a Level III and was principal placed into the Level IV class in 3rd grade. She is a 6th grader now. For all intent and purposes, she is a Level IV student and her report card reflect she ie getting Level IV services. Yes, I realize middle school is a different story.

I am sorry to say this, but do not expect much from level III. We are at a center and have gotten nada from level III. Hope you are at a different school where it can provide some real instruction.

We got a letter regarding level II services and all we have to go on is what was in the letter. I asked DS Teacher at the Open House and she said to talk to the AART. The AAP website is not particularly helpful.
