Thanks! Unfortunately, I’m in NYS. I only have two options and one won’t acceot me, due to age. I can travel of various clinics in NY. I was just going to go with my last clinic since I’ve had success, but maybe I’ll consider a bit of travel to NYC for more advanced care.

I totally get and agree that it likely won’t work. I did use my own eggs at 41 and 43 (well I was one month short of 44, it was last June) and got pregnant first try with each IVF, though I miscarried at 43. I’m ok with it not working. I’m sure my fertility has decreased pretty dramatically in the last year. Neither of us are interested in using DE. Lucky enough to have our son and we can be ok with that, if IVF fails.

No offense intended, it probably won't work. (i did IVF with my eggs 41-42, and eventually moved on.) DE is your best bet -- if i remember correctly, SG DE success is 60%.

That def won’t work. Been married 25 yeas and the two pregnancies were both the result of IVF. Blocked tubes.

Thank you all for the comments. I will regret not trying for another and look back and wish we had given a couple last attempts. If I had let my worries derail me the first time we wouldn’t have ds, who is a joy. I can deal with trying and failing, but will regret not trying. We can be happy with our only, but our house doesn’t feel full yet.

Our insurance covers all by a couple thousand, so it is not an impact financially. Ok then, I guess that decision is made. Dh is thrilled, but also realistic.

I had one at 43 and one at 47. I’m very glad we gave my 1st a sibling and it’s fun having two. Although of course it’s double the work.

Getting pregnant on your own at 45 is one thing - doing IVF and having your eggs/embryos hold up in the lab is another thing altogether.

If it was unsuccessful, will you feel depressed? Will you blame it on yourself or some irrational reasons? In other words, would the failure of the IVF harm you and your family, financially, mentally or in any way?

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. I just had my first at 45, with DE though. The pregnancy itself was uneventful. Wish you all the best.

Just had my second at 44.5. If you need to do a retrieval, the odds are low that it'll work (egg quality declines quickly - I used a donor egg), but the pregnancy wasn't a big deal. No issues. Good luck if you decide to try!

Dh and I have a 3yo, from IVF using my own eggs. I got pregnant again with IVF at 43 with my own eggs, but miscarried. Dh is dying to try IVF agai withmy eggs,but I feel like it’s crazy. We aren’t young now.

Anyone have two older pregnancies? I had no complications the first time, but that was four years ago. I feel the same now, but worry about another four years.
