Is it a family significance? Is there some special reason for this name? Personally, I don’t like it and it seems like you don’t either if you’re trying to find ways around using it. Make sure you like your kids name - not just tolerate it - you’re going to be hearing it for the rest of your life!

Yes, important mentor/personal hero of my husband’s. I don’t love the name but I don’t hate either. We still have time to keep discussing it. One option is to do James Claude instead, but I worry James is too common although I do like the name. We’ll see!

My kid is friends with a CJ. One of the nicest kids I've met.

I don’t like using initials as nicknames. No to CJ and Claude.

I grew up with a CJ...Carl Joseph. He’s a doctor and still goes by CJ.

I like initial nicknames. But Claude is a really dreadful name, OP. Clawed to death.

I know several many CJs. It is almost like the initial names are rising in popularity? I know a Carol Jane, "CJ", and a boy "CJ", unsure of the names.

The first thing I think of is the kid is a junior and they don't want to be confused OR kid doesn't like his first name.
