At least he used a knife and not a gun. That should at least count for something. Maybe manslaughter rather than murder, since it’s doubtful he meant to kill him since he only stabbed him, rather than shot him.
To me, using a gun says you definitely want someone to die, whereas using a knife, it’s more of a gray area. Like you want to hurt them, but maybe not kill them, because knives aren’t generally deadly.

Also, don't give money to panhandlers. Donate to SOME if you feel the need to support them.
I never used to be like this, but I give a WIDE berth to homeless/drugged-out looking people on the sidewalk now. I do not let them get within arms distance of me or my kid.
