Also, we would write an incident report if the parent requested one. I work with a population that is often involved with CFSA so many times these parents prefer to have any injury documented whether it happens in their presence or not.

Yeah, I would be looking for a day care that has an appropriate play area for younger kids. DS's day care had a self enclosed, fully shaded, out door play set for the kids 3 and younger. The equipment was good for their exploration and development but nothing high. The kids had a ton of room to run and play, small slides, areas to crawl through and the like. They were not allowed onto the larger play area until they were over 3 and then there were rules about what they could use and could not use. The teachers were near the equipment and regularly reminding them that they could not use certain pieces of equipment.

But if you were there when the accident happened, there is no reason for a report.

If you don't trust the daycare, find another place.
Accident report not necessary since he was not hurt. Plus, you were there.
What are you looking to gain from a report?

This is my stance

the he’s 8months, if you put him on top of a slide when I’m present what are you doing when I’m away?

I know someone who works in daycare and they mentioned I should have received an accident report.

So I figured I’d ask for one.

No report is a parent is present. Otherwise, report for any marks, and for anything involving the head.

Why do you want one? Are you going to sue? Or have them cover medical bills?

I wouldn’t expect one since you were there. Accident forms are to notify parents there was one, don’t need to be notified if you were there

I wouldn't expect an accident report in that situation because I was there. I would expect one if something like that happened and I was not there - even if child was not hurt.

Check their policy book. Many have a policy that once you are present you are responsible for your child.

Recently had an incident where DS fell off of a soft play ground slide in daycare.

One of the teachers had placed him on the top of the slide, he’s 8months he fell off of the top of the slide, head first

I was not paying attention to the teacher and my son because I was engaging in conversation with the other teacher as an morning overview.

I requested an accident report, I was later called and told their policy is they do not issue reports since he was not hurt, plus I was in their presence
