Most folks in the area who ask about honors classes or AP classes or IAATs or COGATs or other such topics are usually interested because these parents aren't sitting on their a$$es waiting on the schools and teachers to do all the work. They are actively involved in their kids education and as such, they want to prepare their child and make them aware. It's the least they can do as parents because they come from a background where that is important to them.
