Look no further than VA for your answer

VYSA has held State Cup for years drawing top teams to this single elimination event that takes place over the course of a couple of months fall/Spring. Recently NPL has decided they need to hold their own State Cup called the Virginia State Cup Championships. Only thing is that none of the top teams are included in this "State Cup" only NPL teams it seems. Why is that? Cause none of the NPL teams were qualified to be amongst the top teams to earn a spot in the VYSA State Cup so they created their own State Cup.

And there you have it. One State multiple State Cups. And you a proposing a DMV wide tournament. Imagine how that will sit with each State, each league, each club, each...

Nice idea but flawed in so many ways because our youth soccer landscape is so broken.

Interesting idea but sounds completely exhausting for the kids.

It would be really cool to see an open cup style tourney for the DMV. Where you have from U13 and up all teams every club play in a year long style tournament for each age group to begin in August and ending in June . Make it single elimination random draw for flights. schedule games around your teams league schedule. maybe 1 weekday game each week and an extra weekend game. possibly replace 2 tourneys your team normally goes to to fit this in. This would be the entire DMV unlike state cups etc. Anyone think this could be done? Would be fun to see a true winner for each age group based off of a complete random draw of seeding.
