Do NOT bring a birthday gift. A check in multiples of 18 is appropriate. (18 is a very lucky number in Judaism.)

Money or gift card. Do not give some toy or gadget. Save that for the birthday party.

Typical is a check for $36 or gift card. The check generally goes into the college fund while the child can spend the gift card. Few bring actual wrapped gifts, though there will be a few. Anything is appreciated but a gift is definitely appropriate as this is a HUGE milestone in the child’s life.

Give a multiple of 18 if you give cash.

A check or gift card in a card is pretty standard.

Kid to kid = same as a bday party gift. What would your kid give to his friend at his friends 13th bday party?

Do kids typically bring presents? My son has never been to one before but will be attending a bat mitzvah soon. What is the expected gift protocol?
