Meh. Not a big deal in my opinion.

OMG. This.

Well when the poop is in a diaper, the butt often needs much more cleaning than when the poop goes into a toilet. There's also the issue of being able to remove diaper AND it's contents without getting poop all over your kid, their clothes, or you. So yeah, laying down, STILL, with legs up is way easier to do a clean up. I did this until the day we potty trained and neither of my kids had any issues using a toilet to do their business.

Can’t stand this. I’ve seen this fine at restaurant tables. After the parents are done eating. But not everyone else!!!

Disgusting. Same with doing it on plane seats, and pretty much any public area where people are nearby. I don’t want to look at or smell your kid’s shit.

A 22 month old should be taken as far away from EVERYONE as possible because that stuff is stinky. An infant, I'd let it slide.

I have a 20 month old I'm about to potty train, so this question is a bit pointless, but I'm curious: how does one change a poopy diaper without a mess while they're standing? My technique is very dependent on legs in the air.

I’m pretty loose about these sorts of things, but yeah, that’s not cool at all. I’d have gone back to the car in that situation.

My oldest would not tolerate a standing diaper change. He would flop to the ground if we tried. Didn't seem to impact his potty training.

That’s gross. It would be safer anyway to do it in the grass.

Gross because people were eating next to them.

I think I have a high threshold for gross/dirty things, but maybe not.

Changing a toddlers poopy diaper on a picnic table bench, WHILE OTHERS ARE EATING, is gross right?

There was ample grass space nearby, and many families were gathered around the picnic tables eating. This mom changed her 22 month olds poopy diaper right on the bench. People were eating at the table! We were eating next to the table on a picnic blanket on the ground, but the smell was strong.

There were no bathrooms around, but ample shady grassy spots. And the cars weren’t far away either.

Gross? Or should I adjust my expectations?
